Why Do I Do This?

There are a lot of people that ask me why do I do what I do? I work
full time, I have a husband and two children. I get home late, I do
not get a lot of sleep. I get a lot of people asking me why add on
something extra to your plate that you do not get paid for? I could
think of no other answer but, I do it for the girls!

Yes I volunteered to be a leader before I had any other girls but my
daughter, but I am doing this for all girls. I used to be a girl scout
and learned a lot of leadership skills. We did fun things while we
learned. My daughter said she wanted to join Girl Scouts and I wanted
to be involved. I decided what better way than to start my own troop.

This is my first time being on the other side of Girl Scouts. My first
time being the facilitator. I am hoping to be able to be a big part of
helping girls grow and giving them a positive experience.

My ultimate goal in life is to be a teacher and change lives. I am
hoping that being a Girl Scout leader can help me fulfill one part of
that goal. I want every girl in my troop to know they are special and
they can be anything they want to be. Of course their parents are
teaching them the same things at home, I just hope to be another
helping hand.

After they earn a petal or patch and I see how happy they are that
they acheived something, and also that they learned something, THAT is
why I do this!!!
